Its that busy time again....and today I had that wonderful opportunity of vending at Fallfest in winter haven. Had lots of fun, sold some crafty treasures, and met some new people. Excited for next week... Headed to the Mcintosh Festival.
Hope to see you then!

thrifting thursday
Another week...another thrift store find! Seriously, my obsession is getting a bit out of control :) but it's filling my "want" to shop and I am getting great outfits out of it!
This one was pretty easy...
once again I took out the shoulder pads,
cut off the long sleeves and finished them off,
then I shortened the dress a bit,
and used the belt that came with it. And ta da! :)

Button Lamp DIY
When my husband and I bought our house I knew we would need some more lamps. Our living room doesn't have an over head light. So thrift store shopping I went! I found this on pinterest and LOVED it. So I decided to try it myself...
And I love it :) It did take a little bit of time and quite a bit of buttons...but well worth it!

Owl Purse
For mother's day I made my mother-in-law a purse... not just any normal purse. One thing you need to know is she likes owls....and I like to crochet. So this is what happened...

DIY around the house...
My husband and I recently moved into a house we bought :) It is an older home and perfect for us. The previous homeowners either left in a hurry and left some very random things here or they just didn't care to take them with them. Of course I was able to keep some of the random things and the other things...well I made a little cash in a yard sale!
One thing they left that I kept was a some random glass punch mugs. I don't even own a punch bowl and was going to give them away but my lovely mom told me I should keep them saying something like "I am sure you can figure out something to make out of them". And so I kept them and they have been sitting in my craft room...lonely. I saw them in there yesterday and it hit me...I need to do something with these things. I think I have around 14 of them! So this is what I did....
First I painted the inside of the mugs... some of the mugs have different designs on them like the ones I have shown here... some of them are simply smooth glass.
Then I used my handy-dandy super glue and glued the mugs together. And there ya have it! ....a glass vase!
Of course it doesn't go all the way through to the bottom because I didn't cut holes in the mugs. So i think it is perfect for these paper flowers...

Thrifting Thursday
I'm back...
I know, I know...I haven't been updating. at all. but wait! I promise this is happening now. This time of year isn't AS busy for me compared to the fall with the big craft show season. So I am determined to make this a habit. :) And the first thing I will post about is my current obsession... Thrift store re-dos!

So I am determined to make this a habit. :) And the first thing I will post about is my current obsession... Thrift store re-dos!
I have been completly inspired by new dress a day. It is really becoming an obsession... whenever I see a thrift store I just have to check it out.
With this lovely garment...
I took the wonderful shoulder pads out,
cut off the top and put elastic in it,
and shortened the pants to shorts.
What I love about this romper is that it is sooo comfortable. And I got it on half off day...so the grand total was only $1.50. Can't beat that :) When I showed the before outfit to my husband...I know he had doubts, sweetly telling me it was ugly. He was quite impressed with the after :)
